BIO

Johnny began his stand-up comedy career in 2011 when he entered the “Funniest Person on Campus” contest held at Durham College. This gave him the opportunity to take part in the Durham Region Comedy Festival and perform at different venues across the region. After spending three years developing as an actor in the Ottawa Valley, Johnny returned to comedy in March 2014 when he auditioned for MTV. Following the audition, he began performing in venues and clubs across Southern Ontario to perfect his craft.

“From a young age,  I recognized the uplifting buzz that came from making others laugh. Stand-up comedy is more of an obsession than a passion for me. What drives me is seeing the progression of a joke— learning along the way what works and what doesn’t.”

This obsession has led to countless opportunities for Johnny including working with industry professionals, taking part in feature films, and performing in reputable Canadian comedy clubs. Johnny Rogers got into stand-up comedy because it gave him a platform to be his comedic self while creating content that’s informed and intellectually driven—especially those dick jokes (boy, are they intellectually driven).

“That power alone completely changed my life. It gave me the confidence I was missing in my day-to-day and presented a new mission of creating comedic content for all to enjoy.”
